Terms of Use

Plain-English terms. Use the calculator freely; just know the estimate is a starting point, not a guarantee.

1. Using CoverCalc

CoverCalc ("we", "us") provides a free paint calculator and related guides at covercalc.com. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Estimates, not guarantees

Every result is an estimate based on the numbers you enter and typical coverage rates. Real coverage depends on surface texture, porosity, color change, application method, and the specific product. Always confirm coverage on the paint can and buy a little extra. We are not responsible for buying too much or too little paint, for the cost of materials or labor, or for the outcome of any project.

3. No professional advice

Content on this site is general information, not professional painting, construction, or safety advice. For structural, lead-paint, or ventilation questions, consult a qualified professional and follow the manufacturer's safety data sheet.

4. Affiliate links and third-party sites

We link to retailers and contractor-matching services, and we may earn a commission when you buy or request a quote through those links. See our affiliate disclosure. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies; we don't control them and aren't responsible for their products, pricing, or service.

5. Intellectual property

The site design, text, and code are owned by CoverCalc. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not copy the calculator or guides wholesale, scrape the site, or republish its content without written permission.

6. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the site, interfere with its security, or use automated tools to load it at abusive rates.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoverCalc is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is zero.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
